Biography
- Robert Bowman, PH.D., has presented motivational workshops and conference keynote speeches all over the world. He has authored numerous articles for professional journals. Dr. Bowman served as a faculty member in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of South Carolina for 20 years and received the rank of Emeritus Professor. He was one of the founders of the National Peer Helpers Association (NPHA) and served as the inaugural editor of their hournal, Peer Facilitator Quarterly, for six years. He later received the NPHA award for outstanding service. In addition, he received an award from (then governor) Bill Clinton for oustanding sevice to education in Arkansas. In 1995 he was inducted into the inaugural Alumni Hall of Fame in the College of Education at Illinois State University. In 2003, he was awarded the "lifetime Professional Achievement Award" from the South Carolina Counseling Association.
