Biography
- John Flaherty is the associate head football coach at Burlington (IA) High School, where he is in charge of quarterback-receiver development. John as been on the Greyhounds’ staff since 1990. In high school, he was an offensive lineman and captain of the 1980 Wheaton North (IL) High School team that won renowned coach Jim Rexilius’ first state championship. He then went to Luther College (IA), where he earned four letters, served as the team’s captain, and played all the positions on the offensive line. Flaherty began his coaching career at Wheaton North (IL) High School, where he worked on the staff of the man for whom he played in high school, Jim Rexilius, for four seasons (1986-1990).
